Look for the well-known online resources for real estate businesses

Rightmove

One of the best known property portals in the world, Rightmove is the UK's largest with 130 million visits every month. Through Rightmove Overseas it has expanded its international real estate network to include more than 95,000 properties in over 75 countries.

Estate agents, lettings agents and new home developers can take advantage of exclusive member benefits including tools and reports, access to webinars and telephone lead recording. But like many large portals, these kinds of features and level of exposure to customers come at a price in the form of agent fees. In 2015, the BBC reported that Rightmove’s basic fees were £720 a month for each branch of a sales agency and £395 a month for each branch of a lettings agency.

Liveonriviera.com

Liveonriviera.com is a global real estate network that connects real estate agents, building and service providers, and homeowners. It primarily advertises luxury property in the south of France and Italy, but is expanding worldwide, including in the USA and United Arab Emirates.

Although less well-known than the likes of Rightmove, the benefits for agents of working with Liveonriviera are the chance to take advantage of completely free listings - a distinct plus over many other portals - and automatic translation into 11 languages to connect with buyers across Europe, with more to be added soon.

Zoopla

A major rival to Rightmove, Zoopla is one of the fastest growing websites in the UK and attracts more than 40 million visits per month.

In a similar way to Rightmove, Zoopla’s agent tools allow you to monitor leads generated and produce tailored reports at a price. A December 2014 survey by Property Industry Eye found charges paid to Zoopla ranged from £100 to more than £600 per office per month.

Zillow

The North American equivalent of Rightmove, Zillow has a database of more than 110 million US homes.

Through its Premier Agent service it aims to connect agents with prospects and provide exclusive placement on its websites and across its suite of mobile apps, which are a beneficial feature of the bigger portals in general. The cost of using these tools can vary from hundreds to thousands of dollars. In May 2016, FitSmallBusiness.com reported that the average Premier Agent bill is $438 per month.

Trulia

Trulia is part of the Zillow Group in the US. It offers agents a programme called Trulia Pro, which costs up to $200 per month for the 10 featured listings deluxe package.

As part of the Pro service, agents receive mobile lead alerts and lead insight to identify how serious their potential buyers are.

EuropeanProperty.com

EuropeanProperty.com lists more than 200,000 properties in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia.

There is a monthly fee for estate agents to list properties on the site but, at €19.99, it’s considerably less expensive than the agent fees charged by the major players.

A Place in the Sun

Aplaceinthesun.com gives agents selling property across Europe a chance to reach more than 300,000 overseas buyers every month.

Agents get access to weekly analytics reports showing how their properties have performed and email alerts go out to more than 60,000 subscribers.

Holprop.com

Holprop.com is a global advertising platform with properties in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.

It distributes listings across Holprop's Property Network including holprop.com, longtermlettings.com, rentvacationhome.com and rentholidayhome.com, plus on seven unique language sites. Monthly costs vary depending on the number of listings you have.

Daft.ie

Daft.ie is Ireland's largest property website, with more than two million unique users visiting the real estate portal every month.

It lists three main advertising options on its website, from Standard to Featured, the cost of which varies depending on the kind of sale - whether residential, commercial or overseas.

OnTheMarket

OnTheMarket was established in 2015 as a rival to Rightmove and Zoopla and only allows agents to list properties on one, not both, of its two main competitors’ websites. OnTheMarket told the BBC in 2015 its typical fees for a selling agent might range from £177 to £655 a month, depending on location.
