Mandelieu festivals

In February and March hills around the city are illuminated by the myriad of beautiful yellow flowers called Mimosa - the"winter sun". First time celebrated in 1931, the Mimosa Festival is the oldest local tradition and one of the major carnival events on the French Riviera. Imported from Australia in the early 19th century and planted in the Tanneron massif, these yellow clusters have become a famous emblem of the city.
